SCRIP
SCRIP is a
term that means "substitute money." SCRIP
was developed to assist parents with the
cost of tuition. When you purchase SCRIP,
you are purchasing negotiable gift
certificates that are used just like cash.
The
purchasing of a gift certificate is a dollar
for dollar value.
Groceries, clothing, toys,
gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with
SCRIP. The SCRIP is issued by the national and
local retailers where your family already
shops. These merchants want to support
non-profit organizations, and in return, ask
you to support them by shopping with SCRIP
at their stores.
As a non-profit organization, Celeryville Christian School can purchase
SCRIP from participating merchants at a
discount. For instance, most grocery SCRIP
can be purchased at a 4-5% discount.
